This weekend and next will be prime time to tune into Spring’s fleeting desert wildflower season “colorfest.” An explosion of bright orange Mexican Poppies and deep purple Lupinus have already starting popping up with abundance around the desert – alongside pink Fairydusters and other vibrantly colored wildflowers. Here are some of the blossoms that have been captured on the trails over the last week. Recommended hiking areas for wildflowers include Lake Pleasant, Lost Dutchman State Park and Picacho Peak.
